GUARDIANS OF THE THAMES
Painted architectural study of London’s Thames Barrier. A construction that can flow into multiple currents of Sci-fi culture. Taking its sail shaped structures from Sydney’s Opera House, and positioned like an armada of ships, freestanding the banks of London’s River Thames from North East to South East. An over-looked element of the London skyline - the view from outside my artist studio, which is anchored in the South East of London.
During the voyage to gain permission to photograph the Thames Barrier, flags started waving with warnings of breaching UK National Security.
